About Us

"LightHouse exemplifies the very best of our great state...as high school entrepreneurs, each of you contributes to our state's brain gain and proves that Ohioans are ready to out-innovate the rest of the world." -US Senator Sherrod Brown

LightHouse Ohio is an entrepreneurial incubator and accelerator for Northeastern Ohio high school students. We offer students access to workspace, mentors, investors, and a community of entrepreneurs all in order to help them grow and be successful. LightHouse Ohio is partnered with Cleveland-based seed-stage investment firm Shaker LaunchHouse (www.launchhouse.com), which enables us to provide the same level of support to our high schoolers as they do to the young adult community. We were founded in 2012 by three students--Zach Schwartz, Samir Amrania, and Vibhu Krishna--who wanted to reach a demographic that often doesn't get the support and recognition it deserves.

LightHouse's flagship program is titled LEAP (LightHouse Entrepreneurial Accelerator Program). LEAP takes 10-15 of Northeastern Ohio's most promising high school students, and turn their business ideas into reality over the course of a 6-week summer program. The first LEAP took place in the summer of 2013. It was a resounding success: by the end of the program, 4 out of the 9 startups were already grossing revenue, and two were actually approached by investors. The program even got a shout-out from Senator Sherrod Brown!

LightHouse also speaks at schools and does informal consulting with any high school student interested in entrepreneurship. We are always looking for smart & motivated students! If you're a high school entrepreneur who would like to apply to LEAP, or simply get plugged into the community of young entrepreneurs we are busy building, please contact us
